Imu Hotel Kyoto, hotel in Kyoto

IMU HOTEL KYOTO is situated in Kyoto, 5-minute walk from Shijo-Karasuma Metro Station and Hankyu Karasuma Station.

This was my second time at Imu hotel. Very cool bar/reception area downstairs, great for chilling out after a long day, all very laid back and exactly what I love in a hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, check in and out was so easy and quick. The room was a decent size and the price was incredibly reasonable. Would highly recommend for a few days in Kyoto and may even return again one day...

APA Hotel Kyoto Eki Higashi JR Kyoto Station 3 min on foot, hotel in Kyoto

Attractively set in the Shimogyo Ward district of Kyoto, APA Hotel Kyoto Eki Higashi JR Kyoto Station 3 min on foot is situated 500 metres from Kyoto Station, 1.3 km from Sanjusangen-do Temple and 1.7...

The hotel looks very new, and amenities were good. King-sized bed in a 14m2 room meant that it left very little space for suitcases. However it managed to have a dressing desk, a fridge, kettle and coat hangers. Wifi worked fine, everything was clean and no noise issues (only heard the corridor conversations). 3 min from JR Kyoto station - Its true if you are on the right side and floor of the station (!) Arguably JR Kyoto station is large so it could be 10+ minutes otherwise - however overall the convenience was realised everytime we went out. The entry to the underground paths to the station is barely a minute walk.

Kyoto is popular for good reasons - it has lots to offer with numerous shrines, temples, interesting old areas with wonderful architecture and a taste of the old Japan. We did some very enjoyable walking by the river as well as the delightful Philosopher's Path. It also has good connections to other places such as Nara so there is plenty to fill your days. Be aware though that it does get very busy.

Kyoto was our favorite city during our Japan trip.

Kyoto was our favorite city during our Japan trip. We were also in Tokio, , Hakone, Osaka, Hiroshima and Kanazawa. I would return to every city besides Osaka (not our vibe, too western, too dirty) and besides Kanazawa (Nice city with old Samurai buildings, but not much to see there) Kyoto stood above the rest, even above our second favorite Tokio. It was the perfect mix of traditional, modern and very high qualitiy of living (just see the train station, it's astonishing)

We did the free walking tour so we got to see many interesting sites and touristic attractions already within the first day. Arashimjana bamboo forrest was very busy. We liked the Toji market, near station Toji there is also a 5 story pagode. Also good visit was by train to Fushimi Inari

    Kyoto is a gem.

Kyoto is a gem. If you like cities, and love art, but not crowds then Kyoto is for you. There are great places to eat, relax and learn about Japanese history, art and culture. Definitely go there and stay longer than you think. Everyone who I spoke with before going to Japan told me they wished they spent more time in Kyoto and I get it! Glad I listened and we stayed for half of our time in Japan! Visit Toji Temple, get some hand made soba and udon, walk Philosophers Path, see temples and shrines, go to museums and do something with swords! Don't forget the bamboo forest, try the banana sesame smoothie. We got very lucky and ended up seeing the Murakami exhibit which was a completely awesome surprise as it had just opened! It's super easy to get around. If you have. JR pass use it! Pair it with an IC card (pasmo or welcome suica or suica, etc.) and I recommend using the local busses also. You can get around faster or as fast and taxis are much more expensive. Also we used Kyoto to visit Hiroshima and Osaka. Super easy to get to both with a JR pass. We didn't make it to Nara, though it was also close. Hope this helps and hops you have a great time!

Kyoto on 1st presentation is a modern,, not particularly attractive, city. However, the historic areas, particularly the gardens, are well worth seeking out. It is also interesting to see a contemporary city that is not overwhelming Western. Kyoto has its own character.

Kyoto is incredible if you're into either art, gastronomy, nature, history. The architecture wether it be land marks or merely quiet neighborhoods is a dream. As a faun and flaura enthusiast , I could've stayed weeks. Transportation was simple and the city is also close to breathtaking natural beauties. The restaurants were great (I recommend going on Japanese foodie blogs and using Google translate). We adored Kyoto!

Staffs were friendly and check-in instructions were clear, do note that if you are checking-in before the check-in time, luggages needs to be stored in the guest centre near kyoto station instead. But there's a free luggage delivery service to the hotel from the guest centre. Rooms were spotless clean and comfortable. Good size as well. It's super convenient to have a washer, dryer in the toilet is just the best thing. All clothes gets dried in a matter of hours. There are also several 24 hours convenience stores around as well.

Beautiful Ryokan in the middle of Kyoto, walking distance to popular districts while having a relaxing location. The staff were beyond welcoming and made us feel at home. They provided traditional Japanese breakfast and dinner which was delicious. Sleeping in the traditional Japanese tatami beds was one of the best sleeps I've had, they provided pyjamas and yakata/robes to wear around the hotel. It was like a well serviced and welcoming BnB. I definitely would stay here again and wish I had stayed longer than 2 days.

Excellent breakfast. Easily the best that I’ve had in a hotel that is an option for the room rate. Wonderful and convenient location just a few steps away from Kyoto Station and the popular bus routes. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. Laundromat was convenient and accessible. Room was very well designed except for one drawback (see below). Elevators were available and fast. Check in and out was easy. Coffee room was an unexpected bonus. This place honestly felt like luxury and was one of the best priced hostels we stayed at in Japan. New, modern facilities with plenty of space and very comfy beds. The rooms are small but fit us just fine and for the price they were a steal. There’s luggage storage downstairs if you don’t want your bag in your room, and free comfy loungewear you can wear around the hotel between showers & the bathroom. The staff was very professional and kind Loved it & would recommend!

One of the best and most family friendly hotel we have stayed in. The hotel is very spacious for a 4-member family and equipped with a small kitchen. Their guest room had complimentary coffee/tea. The location is quiet, and relatively accessible to most tourist spots in Kyoto. There are English speaking receptionists and all staff are friendly, helpful and kind. We had an excellent 2-night stay. I highly recommend this hotel for families or groups.

The staff are super information. The wifi are strong, 3minute walk to subway station, 3mins walk to bus station. 5 mins walk to 7-11, 8 mins walk to family mark, so the location is basically the best. Gojo station only one station to Kyoto Station, so it is super convenient. Microwave at the lobby, laundry just 10 mins walk away from hotel The hotel room is okay for 2 people. but we got big luggage so its quite difficult to open up.

It’s hidden in a very quiet neighborhood but location is really good, because it’s close to subway station, konbini and near Gion. You can feel the ryokan vibe when it comes to furniture and design. Very comfortable and big beds. Nice balcony. Clean rooms, bathrooms, kitchen. Wi-if works perfectly. You can also make a laundry for free! Affordable price.

The location is perfect, train to Osaka and out of Kyoto ia next to the hotel, train for Arashiyama right infront of it. And Kyoto which uses a lot of bus, the station near the hotel makes it feel like central station, you can get anywhere and back very easy.
